  • Sanctuary Open for Worship - May 2nd

Sunday - May 2nd will be our triumphant return to Worship here at El Buen Samaritano U.M.C.!

Our church leadership, after taking MANY considerations and logistics in mind, has decided that conditions are acceptable for us to gather as community once again INSIDE our sanctuary. However, our return inside will look very different than what it was when we left so abruptly over a year ago. Due to an ongoing response needed in light of COVID-19 concerns several safe practices have been put into place.

We will do our best to follow the Public Health Order as we move inside for worship:

    • We are asking all individuals to enter through the main entrance off 7th St. through the courtyard.
    • The only activity taking place at this time is worship on Sunday at 11:00am.
      • Only the Sanctuary and Restrooms will be accessible at this time.
      • Doors will open at 10:45am in order to limit the time we will spend inside.
      • Doors will remain open throughout the service, and fans will be on.
      • Sunday School and fellowship events will be considered at a later date.
    • Hand sanitizer and masks are available for those who need them.
    • Our greeters will be conducting temperature checks prior to entry.
      • Any temperature ABOVE 100.3 will be considered a fever.
    • Please observe social distancing - 6 ft. from individuals who are not part of your household.
    • Every other pew will be blocked off to help maintain social distancing.
    • Please wear your mask at all times.
    • If you feel ill prior to Sunday morning worship, please stay home.
    • If you feel ill at any time during worship, please excuse yourself to the courtyard and notify a greeter/usher.
      • We will still broadcast on 91.1 FM during the service if you wish to remain in the parking lot.
      • Pastor Jon will continue to broadcast his sermon on Facebook.
    • All printed materials and seat cushions have been removed from the Sanctuary for the time being.
    • Communion will continue to be served in self-contained units until further notice.
    • The church office will continue to "open" by appointment only during the week.

While this list may look extensive at first, many of these procedures are being observed by most of us in our everyday life already. It is with great sensitivity and regard for each person's safety that we have implemented these changes. We pray that the measures taken during this time will encourage you to know that your leadership continues to be concerned for your total well-being, not only spiritual, but physical, mental and emotional as well. We hope to see you in worship next week!

If you have any questions, concerns, or comments please contact the church office or Pastor Jon.

  • Prayer Chat with Pastor Jon
