Rev. Jesus "Jesse" Bermudez

Rev. Jesse Bermudez attended Lydia Patterson Institute in El Paso Texas. He earned his B.A. from Sul Ross University in Alpine, Texas. He received his masters in theology from Perkins School of Theology in Dallas, Texas.  He served for 20 years as the Rio Grande Conference Disaster Coordinator working with UMCOR. He served appointments in: Deming, New Mexico 1967–1969; Marfa-Alpine, Texas 1969 -1972; El Paso/La Trinidad 1975–1978; Albuquerque, New Mexico/El Buen Samaritano 1978–1980; Central District Superintendent, Lubbock, Texas 1980 –1986; McAllen, Texas/El Divino Redentor, District Superintendent Northern District. He retired in 2004 with 39 years of service in the Rio Grande Conference. He is president of the District Committee on Ordained Ministry, a member of the Conference Board on Ordained Ministry, and a member of the Common Table. Rev. Bermudez teaches the Adult Spanish Sunday school class and  chairs the Visitation committee. He and Louisa are active members of a Kiwanis club, a global organization working to change the world one community and one child at a time.
